Dear Patients,

As I begin my 29th year as a chiropractor, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you. Some of you have been under our care for 20-plus years, and some for just a few months — either way, you've chosen Pomeroy Chiropractic Wellness, and that means more to me than you know.

Growing Our Family Practice

Dr. Alison Moore has just become Pediatric and Family Certified, and both she and I have completed advanced training in pediatric and family care through The Pediatric Experience. We're excited to grow a true chiropractic family practice that serves patients of all ages — especially kids. Dr. Moore is in our Derby office Monday through Thursday, and we'd be grateful for your continued referrals.

The pediatric age group is facing a dramatic rise in health issues, and we believe early intervention matters. A few national health trends worth noting:

  • An estimated 31–46% of children in the U.S. live with a chronic health condition, depending on the data source and definition

  • Roughly 21% of children and teens are affected by obesity

  • Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. children and adolescents (ages 3–17) are diagnosed with a mental, behavioral, or developmental condition

  • Neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder affect a significant portion of school-aged youth

  • Asthma remains one of the most common chronic physical conditions among children

In our own experience, some of the most common reasons families bring infants to our practice include colic and excessive crying, feeding and latching difficulties, sleep disturbances, and torticollis (tight neck muscles) or flat head syndrome. We're glad to talk through any of these concerns with you directly.

A Few Changes Coming Your Way

As PCW continues to grow, we're making a few changes to serve you and your family better:

  • New scheduling system. We're moving to scheduled appointment slots with a few walk-in slots available throughout the day. You can still book ahead — in the office before you leave, online, by phone, or by text.

  • Separate new-patient times. New patients will now be scheduled at times separate from regular adjusting times, so we can give both groups our full attention.

  • Friday walk-in hours. Every Friday, our Wichita office will be open for walk-ins from 9:00–11:00 AM — so if your week gets away from you, there's still time to get adjusted before the weekend.

We're confident this will be a minimal change for most of you, and we appreciate your understanding during the transition. A few things that will help:

  • Most of you come in around the same time at each visit, so our team is happy to get your future visits pre-scheduled.

  • For patients of Dr. Shawn — his busiest times are currently Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Our team can help you find an adjustment time with minimal wait going forward.

  • During adjusting time slots, our whole team is focused on adjustments only. If you're next up, please be ready to hop on the table — phone off, pockets emptied. It sounds small, but a 30-second delay multiplied by 30 adjustments a day adds up to 15 minutes.

  • The best way to stay in the loop on everything happening at PCW is to follow us on Facebook (Pomeroy Chiropractic) and Instagram (@Pomeroychiro), and read our weekly newsletter. You can also visit us at www.pomeroychiro.com. If you're not seeing our posts or newsletter, just let us know and we'll get that fixed.

Thank you again for trusting us with your care and your family's health. We don't take that lightly, and we're excited for what this next chapter holds for PCW.

With Gratitude,

Dr. Shawn Pomeroy
